OCF 2025 - PLAN B - EN

Hello everyone,

Nature has decided to play tricks on us this week! Due to heavy rainfall, the Drôme river is in flood and unfortunately won’t allow us to go canoeing as planned.

No worries: we're not going to let that ruin the party! The Open Canoe Festival will still take place, and we’ve prepared an awesome backup program for you.

Questions? Find the key information and the new schedule below.

Has the OCF 2025 program changed since online registration?

Yes! We’ve prepared an awesome backup program for you.

And don’t forget, there are plenty of land-based activities waiting for you too: discussions, talks, entertainment, screenings… Many of these were already part of the original plan; the workshops initially scheduled on the river will simply be adapted.

Will it still be possible to paddle during the festival?

Yes! A large part of the workshops has been moved to a lake so you can keep paddling and learn new techniques with our 35 instructors.

We’ve made sure that everyone gets at least one paddling slot. Workshop sign-ups will take place on-site starting Friday at 2:00 PM. Head to the workshop hut to register for the paddling session of your choice.

Am I still registered for my on-water workshops?

It depends! With the exception of workshops with Becky Mason and Reid MacLachlan, your online registrations have been cancelled. Since the program has been adapted with a custom setup, online registrations are no longer valid!

So make sure to register for the new workshops at the workshop hut!

We’ve made sure to offer at least one guided paddling session with one of our 35 instructors to each participant.

Are shuttles to the workshops still running?

Yes! Round-trip shuttles are arranged for participants in on-water workshops. If you have any questions about the shuttles, just head to the workshop hut.

I registered for a workshop with Becky Mason and Reid MacLachlan. What should I do?

Participants in the Saturday and Monday workshops with Becky Mason and Reid MacLachlan are still registered. Please note that you must make your own way to the lake.

Also note: we’ve been able to add a third workshop on Sunday with Becky Mason and Reid MacLachlan. Registration for this one will also take place at the workshop hut.

Where is the lake?

For the curious ones, here are the GPS coordinates of the lake where the workshops will take place. But no worries — all on-water workshops in the program include a shuttle from the campsite.

LETTER FROM THE TEAM

Hello everyone,

Nature has decided to play tricks on us this week! Due to heavy rainfall, the Drôme river is in flood and unfortunately won’t allow us to go canoeing as originally planned.

But no worries — we’re not letting that spoil the fun! The Open Canoe Festival is still happening, and we’ve prepared an awesome backup program for you.

A large number of workshops will be moved to a lake, so you can keep paddling and learning new techniques with our 35 instructors. There will be space for everyone, and registration will take place directly on site.

And that’s not all! Plenty of land-based activities await you: meet-ups, talks, entertainment, film screenings... Many of these were already on the original schedule; the river workshops will simply be adapted.

Let’s remember that the OCF is led by the top specialists in canoe tripping, all eager to share their skills and passion. In short, everything you need for a great weekend — even without the river — especially since the weather is expected to improve!

The good vibes will be there, the enthusiasts too, and the spirit of the festival will be stronger than ever: adaptability, camaraderie, and a love for canoeing. Thank you for your understanding and your enthusiasm.

We can’t wait to see you this weekend!
And don’t forget your flannel shirt!
