The dates for the 15th Open Canoe Festival are now confirmed! We are delighted to welcome you from Thursday, April 8, 2027, at 6:30 pm to Sunday, April 11, 2027, at 6:00 pm for four days entirely dedicated to learning, improving skills, sharing experiences, and celebrating the culture of canoe tripping and river travel.
Choosing the dates for this edition was not easy. We had to take into account the schedule of the French presidential election, with the two voting rounds taking place on April 18 and May 2, 2027.
You'll also notice that the selected weekend does not include a public holiday.
As every year, we also try to schedule the OCF at a time when nature is fully coming back to life. In France's beautiful Drôme Valley, vegetation is usually flourishing by mid-April, providing the perfect setting for paddling, camping, and enjoying the festival.
Of course, one big question remains: what will the weather be like?
Will there be plenty of water? Not enough? Bright sunshine or a few showers? The oracles say… yes!
In 2026, early April was exceptionally warm, with clear blue skies and perfect river levels—just as they were during the OCF, which took place at the beginning of May.
So, the weather will simply… do whatever it wants. Like any outdoor adventure, it's all part of the experience. By registering for the Open Canoe Festival, you accept that little bit of uncertainty that also makes outdoor life so special.
For everything else, however, you can count on us: a dedicated team, a warm welcome, and the world's largest programme of canoe tripping and river travel workshops.
We can't wait to see you again.
See you on the Drôme River from April 8 to 11, 2027!
