Sylvain RICHIER (France).

A passionate enthusiast of wildlife and aquatic environments for many years, Sylvain has been paddling the Loire and other rivers for more than fifteen years by canoe-bivouac, keeping watch for beavers and waterbirds.

Originally trained as an ecological engineer (17 years at the French Office for Biodiversity), and inspired in particular by the Open Canoe Festival and its instructors, he decided in 2019 to take the plunge and become a professional canoe guide himself, to share his love of paddling, life in the great outdoors, and observing nature.

It was by winning a stay in the OCF raffle that he met the Le Merlet association, the training organization with which he obtained his qualification.

He created his own canoe discovery business on the Loire: Castor & Bivouac.

Explore, play, observe, share, (eat well), and take your time are his watchwords!
